MMR reaction?

DS had his MMR last Thursday. Last night he woke with a temperature of 38 degrees. I gave him Calpol, stripped him off etc and he cooled down and slept until this morning.
He now has temp of 39 and quite sleepy.
He's in his nappy, giving him water and given him Calpol.
He's never had a temp before, so a bit of a learning curve for me at the moment.
Should I just keep doing as I am doing? Any advice?
Thanks

hopeful bump

temp is now at 37, so calpol has worked.
he has no rashes or anything, apart from bright red cheek and ear.
if it is mmr, does anyone have any similar experiences and if so, how long might it last?
thanks
