Soothing Chicken Pox Spots

ds has got chicken pox & is complaining about the spots hurting him. I assume he means they're itchy (he's only 4) Other than calamine lotion is there anything else anyone would recommend to help soothe them for him.

oats in the bath or bicarb

keep the water cool-ish and pat dry

you can get calamine mixed with aqueous cream which is nice and soothing

also, piriton if he is very itchy
