DS got a cold and eye is bit gloopy - see GP about antibiotics?

DS (18 months) has a cold and is quite hot with it (but not a worryingly high temp)(. His eye has had some yellow gunk coming out of it but not much. Should I take him to the GP in case it's an eye infection and he needs antibiotics? Or even if it is an eye infection will it just get better by itself soon without antibiotics?

Unlikely to need antibiotics.

As long as the eye itself isn't red, I would just keep it clean with cotton wool and cooled boiled water.

Ds would probably prescribe saline type eye drops. Your pharmacist might be able to advise

Would have a chat to pharmacist, and clean as Belgo said. Likely to be viral eye inection stemming from the snot he has wiped in his eye. As the cold is viral as well, there is unlikely to be any thing antibiotics could do.

My DS has had this today. He has spent most of day sleeping and crying when he is awake. He also put his hands up to his face and head, asthough it was hurting. The yellow glup is very yellow, almost florescent. I was wondering what it was too
