I need to shift this wind!

Hello ladies! DS (17mths) has had trapped wind for the past two days. He will hardly eat anything as it is obviously uncomfortable for him and keeps throwing up his bottles. I'm pretty sure it is wind because he is fine within himself and when I hold him I can feel and hear the wind moving around in him but for the life of us DH and I cant shift it through usual burping methods. Do you know if there is anything I can give him?

Lay him over your lap on his front and rub or hold him in facing out in front of you and jiggle

massage his tummy.

cocolepew thanks but we have tried this Its really stubborn! I think when it eventually shifts the windows are going to shatter!

also, and don't ask me why, rub the arch of his foot in circles...always makes me burp!

DD2 had terrible colic and reflux, if I held her up and gentle pushed around her ribs she'd burp, I could feel the wind gurgling around here.

x-post! Sorry. Have you tried Gripe water, DD1 would shift stubborn wind after a drink of water with a bit of sugar in it.

Both my ds's have had very stubborn wind. I would suggest,
rub in upward motion only, don't forget under arms and more towards the front.
Also all of the above that have been suggested already.
Sit him on lap facng you, sloly 'tip' him backwards so his hips are higher than his head dor a second and bring back slowly and pat back, also do this side to side.
Gently bounce him on your lap while pressing your plam onto his back ensuring it is completely straight.
All else fails, lay him down on his back for 5 mins, give it a chance to settle and then do all again.
Can you give some cooled boiled water now? I sometimes find that also helps

No, I don't think so, you buy Gripe Water. I just put sugar in cooled boiled water. I don't know what Gripe water actually is .
