Sore throat in 4yr old

DD1 has just woken up coughing (has had a cough for the past few days) and has been crying saying her throat is sore.

What can I do for it? I have given her Tixylix and Nurofen for now, and she has gone back to bed. What can I do tomorrow to make it any better for her?

Honey and lemon?

Keep a drink of juice water by her bed in case she wakes up in the middle of the night and can't get back off.

What is so wrong with tixylix - it works for my kids!!!

Will have to buy honey, and hope she will take it - i cant stand it.

She has her sippy cup by her bed - always has had a sippy cup at night time.

wondered if it was worth trying to get her to gargle or not?!

She seems to have gone back to sleep, so hoping she might be ok in the morning.
