DS2 is 3. he has developed about 6/7 bright red spots on his legs. Some are large, about 5mm across. Seem slightly raised. Not itchy though. any ideas?

cathcat, my DD 4 has breakouts of spots on her backs of her legs and also on her bottom. They kind of look like pimples. I was wondering if it was thrush and have tried canesten (used from when she had thrush around nappy area a couple of years ago) Other than that I tried sudocreme but they reappear. i was thinking of taking her to docs. Sorry I'm not much help to you but there might be someone out there who could help??

OhYouBadBadKitten · 04/03/2009 20:44

How many hours/days has he had them?

cathcat · 04/03/2009 21:05

We noticed one this morning and then the rest at bath time tonight.
Clure, these are large and flat. not sure if you could say they are pimples.

Any pain in his legs..knees..or any other joints and does he have any abdominal pain?

HSP? My friends dd had this last summer but it looked nowhere near as bad as the pics here.

cathcat · 04/03/2009 22:21

Thanks for the links. They don't look like that at present - those look painful! He is asleep now so will see how it is in the morning. thanks all.

They resemble chicken pox spots but then turn into..sort of bruises

StercusAccidit · 04/03/2009 22:30

Not painful or itchy btw

JiminyCricket · 04/03/2009 22:37

Sounds like it might be molloscum, seem very common now. dd2 has them currently after dd1 had for two years..hoping to be rid of them soon.

thought of hsp immediately - but you need to go to GP - there are literally hundreds of different rashes so no-one can diagnose over internet.

the important quesion is, is he well in himself?? ie eating, behaving normally no temp etc

if normal then can wait till tomorrow
