she is stripped off, have sponged her down, but her temp isnt going down by a lot. it was at 39.2 at 3pm, so is lower.

fluid intake seems ok, has bfed 4times so far today for 30mins each time. she is sleepy. was sick once this morning, and it was mucous-y.

misdee · 04/03/2009 17:33

she has no rashes, fontelle is fine. the gp wont giv her anything, just give me the usual advice which i have been doing. temp started last night, was lower this morning. was thinking if no better tomorrow morning then would take her.

Yes ibuprofen is ok after 3 months

ANTagony · 04/03/2009 17:38

Calprofen bottle says 3 months+

ibuprofen based things I think are ment to be better for fever.

I'd second ringing the doctors and poping her in for a check up - at least if you get to sleep tonight you'll be more comfortable that she's been seen.

misdee · 04/03/2009 17:39

hanks.

if this has no effect in the next couple of hours will call out of hours. if itworks, then will take her to gp tomorrow morning for advice.

will the ractise nurse be able to deal with this?

is she easy to wake and is she still weeing as usual? if not she needs seeing tonight. And personally I would want an emergency appt with GP tomorrow unless practice nurse paediatric trained.

LackaDAISYcal · 04/03/2009 17:44

hey misdee. you can give the ibuprofen and the paracetomol at different times and so give you better all round coverage. ibuprofen is, as someone else said, better at getting temp down.

Poor wee scone , it's horrible when they are so ill at such a young age.

misdee · 04/03/2009 17:48

she is weeing and poo-ing fine.and quezzling breastmilk ok.

is easy to wake as well

if she is getting lots of BM misdee that's good

nowwearefour · 04/03/2009 18:05

i dont think that temp is particularly worryingly high to be honest. i dont worry til 39. hope medical advice reassures you.

misdee · 05/03/2009 10:20

hi

have been at th docs thi morning and saw the nurse. sophie has a nasty ear infection, and her temp is still high with calpol and neurofen. nurse has perscribed strongest dose of anti biotics she can for soph's weight, and has said, if she doesnt get better or her temp remains high, she stops weeing/pooing, then come straight back as she isnt happy herself, but i'm doing everything i'm meant to do, but if things carry on she will get the paed to see soph.

her temp starting rising again in the waiting room, was 39.6 when we got seen poor baby isnt well at all.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2009 14:23

How is she today misdee?

bumble woke up screaming at 5 this morning and has barelyt stopped. A visit to the doc has confirmed an ear infection here as well .

I thought he was pulling at his ear yesterday due to teething. Poor lamb.

misdee · 06/03/2009 19:45

we ended up at a+e last night as she started snorting when breathing in. gp surgery sent us to a+e. given the all clear there. she seems a bit better tday
