Who on MN would like to kill their GP?

We've all heard of GPs killing their patients, but I just wondered how many of you fellow MNers would like to kill your GP, or a GP that you know.

If I could do a poll I would do...

Would like to kill their GP
Wouldn't fancy killing their GP
Can't decide either way

Look forward to your answers!

I've met many GPs that I would like to throttle very slowly. The GP who diagnosed my ectopic pregnancy as cystitis. He needs killing for the public good. There is also the GP who told her receptionist to leave her phone off the hook. I have a fund of stories about GPs who need to die now.

My current GP is lovely though. An amiable type who agrees with everything I suggest and makes appropriate referrals. Who could ask for more?

WilfSell · 03/03/2009 23:34

No. I'd like to fuck mine.

shedrew, I get you! Sorry so many MNers have totally lost their SOH lately. Is it me or has MN gone all serious and touchy lately!!! Mmmmmmn.

Anyway, FWIW, personally, I would happily strangle mine. My DD1 had disgraceful non treatment at the hands of ours and its a miracle that she made it through.

frumpygrumpy · 03/03/2009 23:39

WilfSell, I take it you are a complete hypochondriac then? Lol!

WilfSell · 03/03/2009 23:39

Mine is my age-ish, sexy and disarmingly direct. I am putty in his hands.

Radom trivia:

My GP looks like Borat (Not Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat) Pretty sure I have posted about him on MN before.

I also know he is married with many children (as am I). So it is entirely a fantasy. I imagine the twinkle in his eye. But it doesn't really exist since this is the man with whom I have discussed my intimate cystitis issues, my separated stomach muscles and who did a home visit 10 seconds after I got off the loo . He smiled politely and nonchalantly as I answered the door in a 'never mind the stink, bodies are my job' kind of way .

I could tell him anything now.

SheDrewTheLine · 03/03/2009 23:49

i'm glad some people understand where i'm coming from with this.

Quattrocentro I love the slow throttling and killing for the public good
that is kind of where i've been

i'm sure if enough people clubbed together we could hire a sniper

do I need to add another disclaimer

Wilf you are so ovulating right now

Quattrocento · 03/03/2009 23:55

Wilf you need to go to bed now and stay there until the postman and milkman have been and gone. I worry for their safety ...

WilfSell · 03/03/2009 23:57

DH believes strongly we should all be allowed one murder in our lifetimes.

MrsMerryHenry · 03/03/2009 23:59

We have a horrific GP who runs our practice, he basically can never be arsed to do anything. I sat by the receptionists once and in one hour I heard about 5 separate complaints about him from his patients . I shan't tell you the worst thing he's thought to have done, though I have seriously considered reporting him to the GMC.

On the other hand I used to have an utterly, utterly brilliant GP who was kind, thoughtful, treated you like an adult and was very attentive. I wish I could take her with me whenever I move home!

IME most are okay, very few are brilliant but also very few are as awful as the man I mentioned.

My GP's great. He does exactly what I tell him to do . I do need to get rid of some of the patients that book all the appointments with him though, it's really inconvenient!

I wouldn't want to kill them though, maybe send them somewhere else?

pramspotter · 04/03/2009 00:11

OP you are a disgrace.

You have no idea about what these doctors are trying to deal with.

You would freak out and run out of the surgery screaming if you were in their shoes for one minute. You would probably kill yourself if you were in their shoes.

My GP is great and does the best he can in a shitty situation.

jasper · 04/03/2009 00:16

never wanted to kill anyone least of all my GP

Haven't read the whole thread but I would def like to kill my Mum's GP.

She is in Ireland and as you pay for GP visit there till you are 70 she has paid a fortune to him over the last 30/35 years. He failed to sort my sister's PND. He failed to diagnose a stroke in my Mum. He had her addicted to various sleeping tabs. Now he has reached official retirement age and has been retired by Irish equiv of NHS, his medical card patients (of which my Mum is now one having reached 70) have been transferred to another local doc. He refuses to retire and has appealed. He has written to his medical card patients with an offer to still treat them but they have to sign on to a pal of his so he still gets a cut. Of course all his med card patients are older and don't like change and want to stay with him. He is being so damn selfish I could cheerfully bloody strangle him.

cory · 04/03/2009 10:52

My current GP is great, one to be gently cherished rather than killed. Will do what he can, but knows his limitations- what more can you ask? More power to his stethoscope!

But I've known a couple of consultants who'd make ideal guillotine early retirement material.

charitygirl · 04/03/2009 10:55

my mum is a GP.

This thread is funny.

Some people just don't have a sense of humour. And are boring.

laundrygoblin · 04/03/2009 11:07

Can I just flick mine with elastic bands on the bottom ?

Not me. Mine are OK and I don't expect them to do the impossible.
