chicken pox

my 2 yr old dd has chicken pox. i have been putting calamine lotion on her body and giving her piriton.
but the ones in her hair are really bothering her.
can i put calamine lotion in her hair- or is there something else i can do to help??

eurax cream or lotion is v good - I would put it on her scalp without hesitation

I bought the calamine cream - it's easier to put on the scalp

Yep, my dd1 has got chicken pox atm and i wasn't sure but dh had no qualms about putting calamine cream on all the itchy spots in her hair. And it helped loads.

Yup feel free to do the scalp ones as well.. we are doing the same at the moment!

thanks for all the replies, was unsure as she has such long thick hair its hard to get to her scalp- i gave up dabbing and just tipped the bottle of calamine (gently of course ) and massaged it in,
she now looks like a mad witch, but is not itching as much....
