A nutritionist has diagnosed my DS with very low iron levels and presecribed Minadex twice a day. She also gave me a leaflet with iron rich foods and told me to aim for 9mg a day.

The minadex has 12mg per 5ml and says to give twice a day - so 24mg!!!

Have I got my numbers seriously wrong as with food as well that is LOADS of iron?????

That doesn't sound right but OTOH I know Minadex is aimed at children so they wouldn't put too much iron in it. It may be something to do with absorption levels. Perhaps check with a pharmacist.
