Baby's buttocks - crease joined together?

I apologise in advance for asking a very strange question, but I've noticed something about ds3's buttocks which is a bit weird.

He's 4 months old.

If you imagine working backwards from his balls, there's his actual bottom hole which looks completely normal but then immediately back from that the buttocks are joined together for a couple of centimetres - and then the buttock crease starts again. Ds1 and ds2 basically have a continuous crease from bottom hole round to their buttocks (I checked!)

He also has uneven leg creases, but my GP has said that isn't a problem in itself but they will re-evaluate at his 8 month check.

Can someone reassure me that ds3's bottom is actually completely normal before I make a fool of myself mentioning it to the HV?!

Sounds normal I think? Don't want to risk asking for a picture! If you are concerned I'd ask the HV I'm sure they've seen everything

My DD has that and is four months too. At first I thought, what the bloody hell is that about. Then I showed my mum and she said not to worry, it looks normal (don't know why I just accept her word as gospel, maybe it's just she is calm and level headed!). It is now starting to flatten out and is not as noticable. I don't think DS had it as he was much fatter than DD. I think DD being a skinny minnie when she was 5 days old made it more noticable. But no, don't worry. Someone would have mentioned it by now.

it's normal - both my babies had this when they were tiny, it took a little while to grow out.

It sounds like it could be a sacral dimple which is very common and normal. My dd has one (I only know because it was pointed out by the hv) and I've sinced looked at ds' bottom and he seems to have one too (although his wasn't pointed out to me). Dd's bum crease seems to go really high - I hope for her sake hipster trousers aren't in fashion when she's older because she'll constantly have a builder's bum!

What about if baby has a V at the top of their bottom crack/crease, is that ok ?
