11 month old coughing and then puke

DD has been puking off and on since Friday.

On Friday and Saturday it was shortly after she ate - milk or solid - no coughing. We took her to the clinic Saturday because she was crying lots and wobbly - she has an ear infection.

Yesterday she was a lot better, and no puke

This morn she seemed fine, pretty much her normal self apart from not being that interested in breakfast. But she has this cough. It has been so bad that I gave her some medicine just before her tea (which she wasnt that interested in), she puked up water and what looked like the fruit she had at lunchtime.

I cleaned her up and took her to the other room and she continued to play (and cough) happily.
After bath she had quite a long feed and then started coughing again. She puked up everything, no green vomit but to the point that there was clear bile.

She sat on my lap for a bit for some cuddling and went to bed. The lamp's on and I plan to sleep on the floor in there tonight, and go to the GP first thing tomorrow.

Sorry for the long post, but I guess my question is - "is it common for a cough to make a baby vomit" and "is there anything tonight I should be wary/watch out for."

TIA

IME it is quite common for a cough to make a baby vomit.

Have you got a humidifier? That might help reduce the cough at night.

Could she have a tummy bug? My dd is 17mo and has been puking on and off since Friday too, but no cough. She is most likely to be sick soon after feeding. Now we have diarrhea to contend with

DD has the bright yellow and stinky teething poos, she had the same thing the first time she was teething.

She isnt displaying any signs of pain in her tum.

She's snoring her head off at the moment. WIll see what the docs say tomorrow.

It is VERY common for babies to puke with a cough.

If she has an ear infection, surely the GP gave you an antibiotic. Ear infections can make your baby puke, and go off their food, but it is also, unfortunately a side effect of some antibiotics (amoxycillin?- the yellow one)

I think you are right to be in the same room as her tonight. I always have mine in my bed with a towel down in case they are sick.
