Both my DDs were absolutely fine 24hrs ago.

Since then I have one, aged 5, with a temp of 39c and complaining of a sore throat and the other, aged 10, with a slight temp but complaining of ear ache and sore throat. Both were due back to school today after half-term. Both off and both going to Docs this aftn. Oh the joys of being a Mum.

I had this the week before halfterm with both DD's and then earache all of half term.

Hope DD's feel better soon.

'Tis a worry tho cos even Nurofen isn't really helping DD2 altho I'm sure if she weren't on it she'd have a much higher temp but last night she was shivering yet her temp was 39c. She's more herself today but looks bloody awful - really washed out. Neither want to eat much and trying to get them both to drink is almost impossible. I'm snowed under with work too. Absolutely perfect timing eh? Always the way....always the way......

SOunds just like DS at the mo - he has tonsilitus - maybe you should get down doctors and get their throats checked out as you can go from well to really poorly in a very short time with tinsilitus.

I've got appts for them both at half four this aftn. DD2 has never been one to get high temps/sore throats/bad ears etc so its a new one for her - she's always tended to get a full cold and that's it. Whereas DD1 is so used to getting this sort of thing I tend to get her seen to straight away, regardless and most times we end up with penicillen for her altho the Docs have cut right back on prescribing that nowadays. Must admit I don't feel 100% and DH came home from work on Friday looking pretty awful and spent the evening fast asleep in front of the fire with the dog at his feet! What a life eh? Whereas us Mums do all the running around even if we're poorly too!
