My lo is coming up to 3 years and I have just started her with swimmimg lessons. The pool we take her to isnt too cold but she still shivers & gets cold quickly we have also had problems with her getting coughs as well since starting. Im just wondering if anyone puts toddler wetsuits on theitr lo's I have seen them on the internet and am wondering what other mums think of them through experience I was thinking of buying one if it would keep her warmer in the water.

I have one for DS (4.5mo) and I find he stays warmer for quite a bit longer in the water with it on- our pool is a bit chilly too.

It should help stop the shivering!

I've never used wetsuits, but more something like this

Not much. They all get cold and shivvery after a little while in the water. DS had both types and I can't say there is much difference! Make sure you gat a lovely soft snuggly dressing gown for when they get out of the water.

We have one and love it for the beach, but think it might be a bit restrictive for a swimming pool environment (and she will boil if she has to wait long to get into the pool). You can get swimming costumes with long arms and legs or sunsuit type things and they might be more appropriate for a pool (but some pools are picky and don't allow them so check before buying)

Coughs are most likely because she's meeting new children at swimming lessons and catching their germs; probably not anything to do with getting cold per se.
