Unequal vision - how worried should I be?

DD (4.9) had a hearing and eye test at school today, and has come home with a referral to local eye hospital for "unequal vision".

I have yet to get an appt, so don't really know what to expect. Has anyone been through this who can share their experiences? Does it mean glasses? Could it be wrong?

My ds1 had the same thing.

He did have to wear glasses and a patch on the lazy eye. But it wasn't for long and he has great vision now. It was never an issue at school either, and his classmates just accepted it.

It may not require patches however, but will probably mean glasses for all or part of the day.

Hope this helps.
