How long to stay off school after vomiting?

DD was sick last night, in her sleep it appears. No idea what caused it, so intended to keep her off until Friday.

She's been fine and eating normally all day. Then this evening she got into a state over her pyjamas (scratchy, apparently), in the course of which she was sick again. This was mainly clear mucusy stuff - not food like last night, if that's relevant.

Now I'm wondering, do I now keep her off all the week, or was this evening's spew unrelated to last night's and just due to getting herself into a frenzy?

I'd probably keep her off tomorrow if she feels unwell in the morning and then off to school on Friday. I tend to think 48 hours is a bit OTT and teches my kids to stay home every time they have a hint of possibly being unwell.

That's what I'm thinking...I think the first vomit was more to do with her stuffing her face than a bug tbh (she said she was hungry after she went to bed, told dp she could have nothing more interesting than plain bread - if she really was hungry she'd eat it). He admitted after she'd been sick that he'd actually given her cake

I would have one clear day with no sickness and child perking up...then back to school.

Update: she's fine and chirpy but covered with a lovely red rash. Took her to the GP who said probably viral, may be brewing up and infection, but keep her home as there's a measles alert on at the moment.

So no more school for her until after half term!

Dd was sick at school yesterday. She was right as rain as soon as she got home but we dutifully kept her off today. School nurse says 48 hours.

Her class teacher who is also head of infants was surprised not to see her this morning when we took ds in. She told us to send her in tomorrow if she is well in herself.
