dd(4) has high temp and was sick this morning but not since. My mum looked after her all morning and only gave her water. Since I've been back dd has had some calpol and is still listless but looking a bit perkier and has asked for something to eat. I've given a plain biscuit to see if she can keep it down. My feeling is if she wants to eat, let her (within reason) - what's the general consensus?

And whilst we're at it, any ideas how to get the smell of vomit out of a leather sofa? .

We tend to use the BRAT diet if we've had D&V type bugs:

Bananas Rice Apple Toast

apparently all are quite gentle on the tummy.

Avoid all dairy - can make sickness worse or bring it on again.

WTF happened there?

I was trying to be clever and put each initial letter in bold type but obviously it was way beyond my capabilities !

I agree with you. If they are well enough to ask for something to eat then give them something along the lines of what Norbert says.
