Excema in/on/around ds´ ear?

Ds has had very mild occasional excema since he was tiny, really just the odd patch here or there. Last winter he developed a crack behind his right ear (at the top around the curve next to his head) which did clear up eventually. Occasional dry flaky skin there (basically looked like we hadn´t washed his ear but it wasn´t dirt) but nothing else since.

A couple of weeks ago it came back then cleared up after we put some sudocrem on it. Now it´s back again and we went to the pharmacy and they gave us Bepanthol for it. Thing is he also now has a small spot just above his earlobe and also on the little nobby bit (can´t remember what it´s called!) on the side of your face in front of the ear. This bit is scabby, red, raised, a wee bit swollen looking (like a spot with no head) and weeping.

He quite happily lets us clean it and put cream on and I had a bit of a feel and it didn´t seem to hurt him in the slightest. Is this likely to also be the excema? Wondering if a doc should just look at it but don´t want to be all PFB about it.

I´ll probably take him to the doc anyway if it doesn´t clear up in a day or two but just wanted to know if anyone recognises this and what it might be??

Just check your shampoos and soaps for SLS or sulfar lauryl sulfate as that is a industrial cleaning chemical used in most high street brands of shampoos and soaps.

Boots sell a brand called little me and at tescos you can get halo n horns

which don't contain sls, it may help the skin not dry out.
