CONSTIPATED 6 MONTH OLD

My 6 1/2 month old DS is constipated, hasn't had a poo in 4 days, usually does 2 a day! Started weaning a few weeks back, baby rice, sweet potato, broccoli, all fine, no new foods introduced but all bunged up. He is used to ebm from a bottle but won't take water. Tried the sippy cup, no luck! Reduced the baby rice and upped the veg, even tried some pear puree but he vomited it up! He's now wanting less solids (who can blame him, poor love) and is waking in the night. Any advice on how to unblock a water refusing baby? I've tried all my beat baby massage moves!

gripe water in his milk/juice helped my ds a little, or just give him lots of watered down juice

Just can't get him to drink the water or watered down juice, even tried it from a bottle! Someone suggested pureed apricot. Does anyone know if I can puree dried apricot as getting them fresh is a little tricky tonight?!

Prune juice
Not too much though.

How do I get him to drink it? He's not used to a sippy cup and spits out anything other than ebm in his bottle...nightmare!

Well I used to tip it either from tiny spoon a VERY little at a time (obviously sit him up)or from one of those plastic syringes that sometimes come with a Calpol box (or similar).
They will sometimes actually take sips from a grown-up cup if you gently tip it forwards and sit them up. Even that young...I've seen friends do it with younger ones. Once they get the feel of the liquid on the top lip it's seems some instinctively drink! hth

I'll try it, thanks so much.
