Can this be a virus??

DD 3yrs has had cough and cold for a couple of days, been ok this morning all of a sudden she started shaking and crying saying her shoulder hurt, could n't get her to stop crying and she seemed in alot of pain. gave her some calpol as she suddenly had a temp, now asked to go to bed where she is half asleep then waking up crying.

it all happened so quickly, waiting for docs to call me back, trying not to panic

It sounds like it could be a virus but it may be something else. Children can get an infection of the bone, with the pain and the temp this does need ruling out. It sounds like she needs to see a paediatrician rather then a GP to do this.
