:( my DS has probably damaged his front teeth

Alex (4) and jack (2.5) were playing this afternoon and alex got a bit over excited and sat on jacks back, jack wasn't expecting it and his chin hit a hard floor (we was at the brownie hall)

Anyway masses of blood later and i got a proper look at his mouh and he has somehow split the gum above his teeth and it looks like one of his teeth have been pushed backward a tiny bit :'( I have checked for wobblyness but neither feel wobbly - obviously i didn't want to push too hard though.

Do you think i should get him to the dentist to check it out? I am wroking 10.30-7, i might be able to get seen briefly in between taking rhianna to school and getting on the bus to work.

If they're not wobbly I'd leave it for a couple of days until the gum is better (just check occasionally for wobblyness)

Even if the teeth have moved back a bit I'm pretty sure a dentist wouldn't/couldn't do anything about it.

this happened to dd2 when she was about 3 - one of her front middle teeth is now at a slight angle to the other one - took her to the dentist and they wouldn't/couldn't do anything like ponders said. She has a bit of a wonky smile, that's it. won't interfere with adult teeth I was told

Took Jack to the dentist and the teeth ARE wobbly but even worse he has an infection in the gum which was split and is on antibiotics for that.

The teeth might go a grey colour where the nerve has been killed and if he gets much pain and abcesses later on then they will need to come out earlier than usual but like you all said there is nothing they can do about it at the moment.

Hopefully in a week/10 days the wobbly should "reset" but no hard food until then and preferably no dummy.

Ohhh, JJm, sorry to hear about the infection - mouths are germy places though so not surprising really.

Hope the gum heals up well & that his teeth stay put, even if they do go grey!

ds2 (just 3) fell over at preschool 6 weeks ago and knocked his top front tooth - it rotated 90 degrees in his mouth.
He did see a dentist, nothing they could do, and it has just bedded in firmly at an angle.
Just read rest of thread, dentist did give ds2 anti-b's to stave off any possible infection.
Hope it clears up soon.

Just wanted to say, dd2 fell over at school, split her lip and one of her beautiful front baby teeth went gradually grey. I was devistated.

However, over the next few weeks it gradually returned to normal, and now she has a perfect baby teeth smile once more! So if it goes grey, don't despair, it might come white again.

my dd did this at 20 mos on climbing frame and pushed her teeth inwards on left side
they gradually came straighter overfew mos and all was well except she has small notch in the worse damaged one,and she needed braces 12 to 15yrs[prob would have needed those anyway]
they look good now!
