He has been vomiting since sunday night - everything he eats (although we are trying to starve him he has had 2 rich tea biscuits) and almost everything he drinks - he keeps more drink down as the day goes on but he has just thrown up the water he had 20 minutes ago!

He is fine in himself, not being any different to normal really - he has managed to keep a little lucozade down and a bottle of water since sunday.

God now I think I am a bad mum and I should have taken him sooner!

He is 4.5

No, as long as he isn't showing signs of dehydration I'd leave it and play it by ear.

FairyMum · 04/02/2009 18:04

There is some powder you can buy which you mix with water to give to avoid dehydration. I cannot advice if you should see GP, but I do know there is a vomiting bug going at the moment in London at least. Mine have got it and are very ill with it.

When ds1 was like this we had to give him 5 mils of diryolite mixture(sp?) every 15 minutes. It's not alot but it was all he could keep down.

Excellent - thanks - will get DH off down the chemist.

Dodgy one, will you check fb please missus?

Sorry Madame.

lljkk · 04/02/2009 19:09

Little sip of water every 5 minutes. You must do this.
Yes I actually would take him 2 gp 2moro if he's not better, & I'm notoriously laid back about illness, too.

Have you tried lollies? Ice or regular?
