Blood traces on 3yr when wiping bottom

Hello. DH and I have both noticed a slight trace of blood when we wipe DS behind after he has been for a poo. It's not lots of blood, but it is there. We've noticed it a couple of times. We are going to increase the amount of fruit veg etc incase it's due to a hard stool, but nevertheless we are slightly concerned.
Any thoughts? Should we see a Dr at this stage?

If his poos are very hard then there's probably a small tear which will heal quickly enough - but you need to add in a lot of fluid and fruit (prunes work) to his diet. If that doesn't sort it in a couple of days, then yes, see the GP.

(Disclaimer - am not medical. This could all be nonsense)

May not be relevant to your DS but my DD had this recently and it was due to eczema.
