I know that the doc was discredited so I'm going to give DD the injection BUT

Can you tell me if there would be any reason to postpone it? Mum said she shouldn't have it if she's ill. Is this true and what constitues as ill (DD has cold at mo and injection in 2 weeks)

What possible side effects do I look out for so I dont panic when they appear?

Thanks all - Hope you dont mind my stupid questions but it's took me ages to decide to have it normally so I need to know about these things.

Thanks again

If it's not for another two weeks then the cold should have cleared enough by then.
I don't know much about the all in one because mine had the singles. Most of my friends kids had the all in one and they were all fine, no problems.
Hopefully someone else will know about any side effects.
It's one of the hardest decisions to make isn't it?

Just been on the other thread! My DS has been very poorly after it. His temperature was 40.3 last night and very upset for a few days. The trouble is everyone, GP nurse etc want you to be happy to have it so always say they will be fine. I am more upset becuase I wasn't expecting him to be so unwell. Had I known I wouldn't have been so worried.I think it was the right thing to do in having it but he has been very unwell.

Lucky -

When DS had his MMR he was ok afterwards but did want to sleep lots.

You know like if they are coming down with an illness type sleep...went on for 2 days but he did not have temp or anything, then he was fine.

DD is going to have the MMR too but need to speak to the nurse 2 wks before to make sure it doesn't have lactose in it...

Postpone if a dc has a temperature-type illness. But at this time of year it's prob impossible to avoid a time when there isn't a sniffle around.

Check out this page from the Dept of Health...
