He had the MMR last week and has had slight temp, vomiting, off his food, very clingy etc etc. Anyone else had this, I didn't expect him to be so unwell.

sorry I overlooked the other MMR post. I seems a temp is common but I'm surprised about the vomiting etc.

Both my dds had a fairly extreme reaction to the MMR. Almost a slight bout of measles itself (but I suppose that's in the vaccine so hardly surprising) High temp, rash, off their food. But it didn't last long- day or 2 I think.

The HV told me that a strong reaction to the vaccine indicates that the child might well have been extremely ill if they had caught the disease proper (not sure how true that is but we actually had a very good HV)

Hope he feels better soon.

Thank-you smartiejake. Glad it's not the real thing! I have booked him in to have the chicken pox as well but I think I might leave a longer gap now to make sure he is 100% better.
