DD has uneven leg creases, is it a problem?

MIL noticed at the weekend that DD had uneven leg creases and was asking DP when she would be having her hips checked. I assumed that it was checked when the doctor came after birth and at her 6 week check. I hadn't noticed it before as I wasn't looking thinking it had been checked but now it's been pointed out it is very obvious

Is it a problem? DP said his mum was quite worried. I can remember going to a specialist when I was young and being told I had a twisted thigh bone but by the time I went a physio at 20 pg with DS it had corrected itself, could she have the same? I can't ask my mum what my symtoms were and Dad won't have a clue.

Our HV noticed that dd2 had uneven leg creases (these were quite noticeable too), nothing was said and done (I THINK she forgot) and she is now a healthy 6 year old with no health problems

hi.

You should see your HV. It could be a symptom of something. It probably isn't. Two of my three have had uneven leg creases and it has been nothing, but just in case it does signify something wrong, you should get it checked out.

Apart from anything else, you don't want to give MIL any ammunition...

My 11 month old DD has uneven leg creases also. She has had her hips checked several times and nothing has ever been found.
It's worth mentioning it to your HV next time you see her.

Ditto squonk

Thank you all, I will take her to the clinic tomorrow. I don't have much faith in my HV though, thats if she is actually there

If there was a big problem it would have been picked up earlier wouldn't it?

Bump

Does anyone else have any experience of this because I'm still a little worried.

PF - you are obviously quite worried about this, why don't you ring your HV and ask her about it?

If you don't get a satisfactory answer, make an appointment with the doc and get him/her to check it out.

I am sure everything will be fine, but to put your mind at rest...

Sorry I won't ask again, I only just noticed it properly this morning.

I'm going to take her to the weigh in clinic tomorrow and ask the HV then, if I'm not happy with what she says I will take her to the doctors.

Thank you again

don't be sorry, I know what it's like, you just want someone to tell you exactly what is either wrong or not wrong and none of us have been able to do that for you!

You will let us know what they say, won't you?
