My wee boy (9 months) has had a nasty D&V bug since last tuesday. I took him to the Dr on Wed and she said there was nothing i could apart from ride it out. Last night, he was no better (has had no milk or solids for 6 days) so took him to the hospital on the advice of NHS Direct. They gave him diorlyte in a syringe, as he was mildly dehydrated. he kpet that down while we were there, so they sent us home after a couple of hours, seemingly thinking he was fine.

Today though, his D&V are happening again, and now i dont know what to do! No-one at the hospital has said what to do if he relaspes, which he has. Do i just have to ride it out? 7 days for a baby seems such a long time

Any advice on how to ease his suffering would be apprieciated x

Is he keeping the Diorlyte in?. If not
I would take him back to the GP.
I think that he has had D&V a long time, ask the GP to take a stool sample for testing.
Try to give him cooled boiled water to drink to prevent dehydration.
