Sore Throat in Toddler

I feel like such a bad mother, yesterday my toddler mentioned having a sore throat and though I gave her some calipol and a hug...I didn't really believe her

I have been ill for the best part of week and I guessed she was copying my verbal complaints and she had none of my other symptoms.

Today she fell asleep on the sofa and was she was crying in her sleep, holding her throat
NHS direct has told us to alternate calpol and baby ibrovon and take her to the doctors tomorrow.

I feel bad for not believing her and we don't even have baby ibrovon or a tempeture thing in the house.

So I'm off to the shops what else do we need to buy, petit pois (she isn't eating), baby ibroven, more calipol...anything else.

Dosed her up with suitable meds, nursed her to sleep and DH carried her to bed. She spent a fair amount of the evening crying poor little mite. Plus she had a runny poo alert, so I am cancelling our plans for the next couple of days, especially as tomorrow she normally interactions with several toddlers and babies...I don't want anyone else to get ill.

We are lucky mind, with the exception of a tummy bug when she was around 18 months old, she is never ill, which I put down to still being breastfed.
