Viral rash

My DD got a rash on her body and back today, it came on very quickly. We went to see the doctor and was told that it was a non-specific viral rash.
She has had a high temp on and off from Weds through to yesterday, not today.

The doc said that this was a good sign as this meant that the virus is almost gone. But I am confused, as she is no longer displaying any symptoms of illness just this rash, does this mean that she is still ill or not?

Hi Ocho, my DS is 21 months and has had a post viral rash just like the one you describe. It comes on just as he is getting better and lasts a day or 2. For my DS it means he is getting better!

In what way do you mean still ill ? If that is the only symptom then she's ok. She won't be contagious as such.

It is the only symptom that she has, she's not running a temp or got a snotty nose or anything.

We have a big family get together tomorrow with lots of other babies and I didnt want to take her along. If she's not contagious, as its now only rash, then i am going to asume that she is ok to go.
