my son age 6 has a wart on his heel. The Gp gave us a treatment to apply each evening after a bath. Tonight while having his bath the top layer of skin has come off...is this a good or bath thing. Dont know anything about warts. Please help!!!!

it will be dead skin that has been burned by the chemical treatment that the gp gave you so it is normal for it to come away especially after a bath. Just be careful with the next applications that you dont get the treatment on any raw bits of his heel as it will sting.

thanks, i think its also the way ive been applying the treatment. Ive applied on the areas that didnt have warts and therefore the whole section has burned off. Ive guazed it for tonight, gp in mor. I hope it just dries off and comes off naturally as cutting it off may cause some discomfort and perharps infection.

Is teh treatment salicylic acid based? if so the treatment is basicaly designed to kill teh top layer of skin which will peel away, ehtn you kill teh next etc. until it has basically gone. For this reason it is very important not to get too much on the surrounding skin and wipe it away if you do.

A verucca is basically a wart on the sole of the foot. A very effective way to treat a verucca (and therefore should work well for warts) is the application of bananna skin. It is very effective - painless and usually works much quicker than the salycylic acid. Rather than killing each layer of skin and gauging a hole in teh foot it lifts the verucca (wart) to the surface and it just literally falls off.
