dd2 was sick all night last nightand today has been off colour but all day she has had red cheeks.
I was wondering if this was related to her being sick( it even went in her eyes )and she has very sensitive skin.
I think she was sick because it was her birthday yesterday and despite me telling the mil she couldn't have anymore party food she still gave her more.So the sickness may have been simply overeating.

I had slapped cheek a couple of years ago - in my early 20's and wasn't sick with it - just felt like I had a warm/hot cheek.

Her cheeks are red and warm especially the one.
Are there any other symptoms do you know?

Perhaps the sickness is a separate thing.

She was 3 yesterday so i know it's not teething.

DD had it last year. I didn't have to keep her off school and she seemed fine really.

dd2 had it a few months ago, she did have to be kept off school she was slightly feverish and lethargic

the gp said she was best staying off til the rash was subsiding and she felt on the mend, as it can be dangerous to pregnant women

tryingtobemarypoppins · 16/01/2009 20:50

It is dangerous to pregnany women and so schools have to send home.......well that is what my school does!

How old is DD? I thought at first maybe it was teething but I thought I had better ask her age first!

MrsDoylesMole · 16/01/2009 20:53

She is 3

Deos she have a sore throat - could it be scarlet fever ? ds wasnlt sick with slapped cheek , more fluey, but was sick with sf

Lilyloo · 16/01/2009 20:57

DS had it last year not ill at all but had to be kept off school due to risk for pg women.

MrsDoylesMole · 16/01/2009 20:57

Not sure if she has a sore throat but she is warm and hasn't eaten and her energy levels have dipped throughout the day.She is pale and yet has the red hot cheeks.
I gave her Calpol earlier but if she wakes i will give her another dose.
