5yo with leg cramps at night?

DSD has been complaining that she has cramps in her right leg a few times a night. It wakes her up crying and she is normally a good if light sleeper.

Apart from the possibility that she is making it up to get attention, does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be?

TIA

Growing pains. Both mine had them at this age. I Gave them Calpol in night sometimes which helped. I swear mine had grown a couple of inches the next morning

Growing Pains info here

Well it took me a few nights of tears and whingeing to realise my kids weren't making it up .

DD1 gets them and has done for about two years now.

I give calpol and massage foot cream into her legs when she is upset about it. I tell her its magic cream.

OK, having been up to see her again, she said that the pain is in the tops of her feet not her legs, any ideas for this?

It will still be growing pains. Advise still the same here. Calpol and foot rub with magic cream.

DD1 is inconsolable and screams for hours when she gets them. The neighbours thought we were neglecting her at one point it was that bad.

thanks, have done calpol, will try foot rub if she isn't asleep
