2 year old dd keeps picking at a scab on her face...

it started as a sore spot due to teething.

However, mainly during the night, she picks, scratches and rubs it until it is open and bleeding.

We have tried emollient creams, a mild steroid cream and ointments.

we have also tried putting hydrocolloid plasters/patches on it, which help during the day, but they are removed by her during the night.

Short of handcuffs, mitts or a straitjacket, does anyone have any tips for protecting it for a couple of days, or should I be taking her to GP?

TIA

What about a 'fun' plaster that she could choose every day as long as she left it on overnight?

Oh, depends on age how old is she?

Thanks very much for your reply

She is 3 next month.
have got some IKEA plasters that are funky might try them.

Got plain emollient on her face tonight, see if giving her nothing to pick at will help

could you try a really thick layer of vaseline??

She's put such a hole in her face this morning, I don't think I've any option but to take her to GP.

Thanks for replies
