Chest infection but no cough. Huh??

DS2 has had high temp for last few days - took him to dr this morning who said she can hear something in one of his lungs and he has chest infection - but he doesn't have a cough. How can that be??

My DS (3yrs) was in hospital with chest infection before Christmas. He didn't really have cough either. Chest infection can be bronchial (bronchitis) or on lungs (pneumonia). Not sure if that makes a diff - ie if bronchial cough more likely. I was told initially that may be left with cough for sev wks after the infection had gone - but he wasn't really either. Hope your DS gets better - presumably given antibiotics?
