Started on Thursday night (he is 2.5), vomiting and diahria, it still isnt any better, although he is fine in himself, and is drinking lots of water, he even has an appetite, although i have been trying to starve him as anything he eats come straight back out one end or the other

I thought i would have seen some sign of improvement by now, the diahria is worse than the vomiting, is it the norovirus? how long does this usually last?

TIA

I have no medical knowledge at all (so should probably keep quiet) but that sounds a long time. Over 48 hours seems cause for concern, imo

I had norovirus just before Christmas. Had 24 hours of V&D (pretty much non-stop), then 24 hours of feeling horrible, then fine. Might be different in a 2 year old though.

Hope he feels better soon.

Thankyou! yes i though it was a bit long too, but he seems well in himself, still bright, just complians every now and then of pains in his tummy

Maybe i should take him to our GP in the morning, but is their anything they can do?

They might not want you to go anywhere near if he does have norovirus (I guess they'll tell you that when you call).

DS2 had something for best part of a week, but he wasn't fine in himself - he was very tired and listless. I thought it was going on for a while but then he suddenly perked up - took a week though. And he's 7, so not as young as your DS.

ohdearwhatames, yes thats a thought, best not go to docs incase he passes it on, i will call nhs direct if it doesnt improve

Have you tried keeping him off all dairy for a bit to see if that helps? One of mine used to become dairy intolerant after a stomach bug.
