15 week old DS - with 2 front teeth for Christmas! How do I keep them clean?!?!

Hi there

I just wanted to find out if anyone had any tips on keeping my DS's new bottom teeth clean.

Should I used a special little toothbrush and a dot of baby toothpaste, or should I use a cloth wrapped around my finger until he gets more teeth (and older), or what?

He just seems to be far to young for "mild mint" baby toothpaste!

Any advice or suggestions most welcome!

Cheers!

Nix

Either of your two suggested methods of a cloth or a toothbrush would be fine.
Don't worry, if he's old enough to have teeth, he's old enough for you to clean them.

If you're worried about using toothpaste, you don't have to use any at all, but it certainly wouldn't do him any harm to use a tiny amount.

I was advised by a dentist to use a tiny amount of flouride toothpaste as that would give the necessary does of flouride to help the child develop strong and healthy teeth.

However, be very wary of using children's toothpastes, many of them actually contain sugar!

I use elmex baby toothpaste. It has no taste at all, neither mint or fruity chewing gum. Be sure to use a very soft toothbrush. Put one in his hands while you?re washing his teeth, and he will love this new game
