DS (3.6) is generally well at the moment (fingers crossed) but often has episodes of being incredibly pale (grey sometimes) and very pastey looking. He also has periods of being very cranky and tantrum-y that I generally put down to age or obvious reasons for behviour like this such as tiredness or hunger.

Took him to the GP two or three weeks ago as he had earache and the GO made comment about his pallor and ordered a full-blood count but didn't suggest any concern or specific reasons why he might be literally 'off-colour'.

Has anyone else experienced this with their DCs/DSs? Could it be low iron? A Blood sugar problem? Or are there other reasons for this type of problem? Starting to feel a bit worried TBH...

check the mouth! my dd has been grumpy, a bit under the weather and off her food, and i happened to be playing at being a dentist with atorch, and she has mouth ulcers all over both cheeks and the roof of her mouth, the poor thing never said anything and i have no idea when they came. maybe if you find a small thing that is easy to treat like that, it could give your child a boost, some pain sorted out could help them recover. hope it is easy to fix.
