How can I find out what an 8 year old should weigh?

My DD is skin and bones. I am very worried about her now as she has been ill and has lost weight. We are trying to get her to eat more, but she just pecks at food, pronounces she is full up and feels sick and that's it.

I thought if I knew what an 'acceptable' weight range was this might help me decide what to do?

I would think it would depend more on the height than the age of the child.

OK, so are there any websites or guides you know of? I can measure her height, she is small, but painfully thin atm

Just go to the GP with her I think- she may need a referral to a dietician/paediatrician anyway.

if you still have the red book with the immunisations etc in it then the height/weight chart goes up to age 16.

OMG chopchop thought I would never need that book again

hmmm, where could it be? Thanks

Google children's BMI - I thiknk the range for children sholud be between 11 and 18 so will give you an idea of minimum weight for her height.
