Hi,

I came across this comments and I agree that rather than being helpful people were very rude. Since those comments a lot of time has gone passed however, for future mothers that might be considering putting earrings on babies, as alarming that it might sound to a lot of you, in Spain they put earrings on babies when they are just a few months old, it is safe and hygienic and no risks involved and it is not painful, it is less traumatic for the babies to pierce their ears at that age than trying to do it when they are aware that it might be painful. We do not use normal earrings like you do here, we use safety earrings, the are 24 carat gold studs, they have a screw back with a round finish, so it does not damages the baby in any way, no infections, no pain, no risk of swallowing or chocking. You should be able to buy them also in this country however, they are not well known. Hope this helps!

Wow, these people are quite rude. My baby girl is 15 months old now and I got her ears pierced when shew as just 3 months old. after her first round of vaccinations. they healed in a week and she has not bothered them once since getting them done, which allowed the healing to be so quick. Her earrings are the same ones that they were pierced with and they are snap backs, you can actually hear them snap on and you know they are in place. WE got them at wal-mart...... maybe check there.

imo babies should not have their ears pierced. they can get caught up in all sorts of ways and the ear could get ripped and infected. its a baby not a minime

I've just seen some screw back earrings on Amazon made specifically for babies. Lots of babies have their ears pierced sweetheart don't take any notice of those nasty messages. I've got a daughter with special needs with her ears pierced and I suppose that would be wrong too. But I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks. She MY child. Hope you find what you're looking for xx

s604 - the original post is from 2009 so 10 years old and the OPs daughter would now be 11 years old.

But really? Earrings on babies are very questionable on a health, class and moral basis.
