Fever four days after MMR

DS (3.5) had 2nd MMR last Thurs and I know that fever etc four to five days later is normal. But his temp has been high for 24 hours, he had a terrible night with it, fever not really dropping with calpol/ nurofen combo, and he feels rotten. Anyone had any experience? Is it likely to last v long?

Any other symptoms? May not be related to the injection, could have another illness, maybe call the doctor and get some advice

He's not complaining of anything else, says nothing hurts and isn't really coldy - little bit of a cough but don't think it's anything nasty, a tickle really. He's just a bit wiped out and fevery. Think I will call the drs though.

Might not be related to the Jab, I have heard that so many times it makes me want to cry, no love your childs temp most likely is related to the jab, remeber your child has been injected with 3 live viruses and his body is defending itself against them and creating antibodys, when the body defends itself them temperature always rises as thats how the body deals with the virus faster, but then you are told to give them something like calpol that stops the bodys fever defense from working.

My son suffered from weeks and weeks of temps and you know what, I was told, we cant help you anymore got to a homeopath. So they inject them and when there is a prob they cant deal with it.

If I were you I would get loads of vit c into him fast, and don't chill him, let his body try and clear it out. Do some research.

I just said it may not be the injection, chances are it is, but it MAY not be. Calpol is effective in bringing down fever, a friends son has just come out of hospital with a 5 day fever of over 40 degrees, each time the nurofen and calpol was due his fever rose dramatically.
