Chicken pox - how long?

dd came out in spots today, all over. I seem to recall you have to wait til spots scab over before you can rejoin normal society, what I can't recall is how long this is likely to take? someone said 10 days - TEN days?! that long?

min 5 days but not before no further spots are appearing and the existing are scabbed , which could be longer
