Anything to stop a bruise?

13mth DS has just fallen, head first into his toy box. He's OK, just a bit shaken up. He is refusing cool wet flannel against it. It is now pink and puffy. Anything else I can do to prevent a black eye forming? Thanks

arnica gel - it won't stop it but may limit the extent and duration

reikizen · 17/12/2008 09:22

I always give arnica tablets and pop some arnica cream on if appropriate.

misscathcart · 17/12/2008 09:23

another one for arnica! I use the cream from boots at the mo, it seems to do the trick

likessleep · 17/12/2008 09:24

Yes, arnica cream is magical stuff - truly! I was v. sceptical, but have seen the results and am now a convert and feel a bit guilty that I didn't any in the house when my first dc was at the bumpsadaisy stage of development.

likessleep · 17/12/2008 09:25

Arnica dream. I've got a tube on each floor of the house (I've two boys)

likessleep · 17/12/2008 09:34

he's got a huge pink bruise forming next to his eye . i'll definitely get the 'magic cream' in ... is there anything else i can do now, that i might have in the house? poor thing

i am assuming arnica has to be applied straight after the incident. or can i go and buy some today, to apply a few hours after the knock?
