Should I take my DS to the GP?

I hate being PFB but he was hospitalised with bronchiolitis last year so am slightly anxious mum. He's got a temp (had for last three days) and snotty nose and hacking cough. It's the cough I'm worried about.

Would you take him or am I being over-anxious? He's 21 months.

Yes, take him - better now than next week!

If you're worried, take him. There are a lot of hacking coughs around at the moment.

My DS is younger but my GP has not criticised us for bringing him in. He's got bronchiolitis and we were specifically told to look out for a temperature. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to get him checked out.

Only you can judge. you've heard the cough. However, at 21 months, I'd say if you're worried then go. Especially given hospital last year. He'll probably be fine but hey, that's what GPs are for.

Ds has had the same, and is the same age. He spent a day asleep on me, crying intermittently, coughing, and had a raging temperature. Took him to the GP and he's been on antibiotics for a severe throat infection.

Best to get it checked out, especially when they're so young, and it's close to Christmas.

Go if only to reassure yourself but may be a chest infection that requires anti biotics anyway. I took my ds to the gp 3 times last week and he is no. 3

Thanks - that's very helpful.

Think I will call tomorrow morning if he's no better. Can hear him hacking away in there.
