he is 10 and has AS so moods can fluctuate quite violently and he does get down esp at the start of the school holidays. last thurs he was complaining of feeling sick and felt sick for a couple of days but wasnt. but since then he has been teary, very very 'down', extremely lethargic- if he even walks down to the shop at the bottom of the road he flops on the chair 'exhausted' when he gets in. he has been crying alot, is quiet and maudlin one minute then shouty and aggressive the next. could his physical symptoms be a sign of depression? or is it the tail end of some weird viral thing? is it worth taking him to the gp or should i just ride it out? hope its not the start of puberty !

take his temp and ask if feels poorly.
take to gp if no better in couple of days.

i think it sound viral, that he is run down, tired out more than anything else. This can then affect mood and it could be a catch 22.

poor chap.

thanks.am hoping it is a bug rather than anything else. snowcrystal- even if he is throwing up and obv poorly he says he isnt unfortunately. i think if he says he isnt ill then he wont be iyswim. i try to avoid the gp if i can as he wont take any kind of medicine or tablet so i kind of think 'whats the point?!'. such is the joy of having a child with autism
