Hello. I thought all cough meds for under 2s had been banned? And same with Calpol night?

Been to tesco and there was def some cough med for 3 months +. We were going to buy one incase we needed it as DD is ill. But when we got to the checkout we had too much medicine (also had calpol, neofen and adult paracetamol) so didn't bother getting it.

BUT DD is now developing quite a cough and seems to have a sore throat and it is disturbing her sleep (she is downstairs playing at midnight - usually in bed by 7pm). And she is having trouble drinking her milk etc.

So now wishing we had got some. Tempted to go to a 24 hour supermarket now and get some, but not sure if it is worth it? We just need some sleep!

just looked on the Calpol website and Calcough is 3 months + but I am sure this was one of the banned items??

Confused now!

The calcough tickly cough mix is from 3 months as it only contains glycerol as the active ingredient. Calcough chesty cough has gone to being from 2 years as it contain guaifenesin. Calcold, Calpol night, etc also went to being from 2 years plus as they both contain the antihistamine called diphenhydramine.
