Sore cheeks on snotty 3 yr old!

DS has developed bad habit of wiping his snotty nose on his sleeve (delightful!) and his cheeks are now quite sore looking (red, dry and abit spotty). Gets much better overnight and gets steadily worse through the day. I know ideally would be best if could get there first with a tissue but he hates it and i'd need to be an olympic sprinter to beat him every time. Wiping as much as i can but what would be the best thing to put on it to help soothe or prevent it?

Epaderm cream very good for such things.

Or slightly more cheap,vaseline.

Thankyou. He has eczema (though not on his face) and skin is very dry at best of times so don't like to let things get any worse.

I bet there's a staph bug in there. I would get some antibiotic cream for kids from the GP.
