Dd2 (2.9) has got bad breathe (smells eggy), she has ASD and has a habbit of putting things up her nose, we ended up in A&E 6 months ago to remove a bead from her nose under anistetic . Is it possible that she has something stuck up there thats turned nasty? or has she just got bad breath?

Try getting her to drink plenty for a couple of days. She might be slightly dehydrated.

When you clean her teeth, does she let you clean her tongue? There are tooth brushes with a tongue and cheek cleaning pad but I don't know if they do them for children.

I would try these before worrying about her nose.

She drinks plenty (possibly too much)

She loves me brushing her teeth, i will try brushing her tongue.

Today she tried putting play-doh up her nose.

She does dribble alot at night.

It is possible there's something stuck, could certainly cause bad breath if left there.
My DD gets bad 'eggy' breath when she's constipated though, is there a chance it could be that?

Hmmm, thinking about it, i havn't had a dirty nappy for a while (maybe 2 days), maybe thats the cause.

I realy hope nothing is up her nose, i cant be doing with another trip to hospital.

my dd gets bad breath if she's ill or it can happen whenshe's coming down with something.

I'd look at the other things before having her nose checked If you haven't had a dirty nappy for a few days try and remedy that first incase thats the cause. DD suffers a lot and we have medication for it but a mild case, I'd try fresh orange and massaging tummy, and if no joy you can pick up lactulose at chemist, is basically just liquid sugar [bleurgh emoticon] but does the job if no joy

If after a clear out smell is still there, I'd go to gp and let him have a look

I'd go with the nose thing. A friend's DD smelled horrible, and it was a bead up her nose. Think it was there for months

I think i will give it till monday, if she still smells i will take her to the GP to get her nose looked at.

other causes can be constipation and mouth breathing (Linked to cattarh and adenoids)
