trying to keep a sense of proportion here! Even if he has (and I'm not remotely certain that this is the case), he can breathe fine and sounds normal despite a lot of coughing, which has now subsided. My inclination is to watch and wait - but slight paranoia along lines of 'what if it moves down his airways during the night and he chokes' or 'what if the sticky side is facing out and it obstructs his bowel' - trying to balance this with trip to A&E on a December night when he probably hasn't swallowed anything at all (he has no history whatsoever of putting anything other than food in his mouth). DH is reading him a bedtime story and all sounds fine at the moment. Any thoughts?

Yes, it will be dissolved by his stomach acid. DD has eaten quite a few Iggle Piggles in her time and is kicking around.

The Upsy Daisy's apparently taste better

Thank you! it (if indeed it was swallowed) was a Big Barn Farm animal. Be interested to see how it compares to characters from other programmes

Ds1 once ate many pagesb from a womans own when he was 6 months old. It was there with him on the floor and shortly afterwards it had disappeared and a few bits of paper were poking out of his mouth!

WHat age is he? Will have been all smushed up and chewed up so should be fine.

littleducks · 09/12/2008 20:12

oh it will be fine im sure,

we ordered the cbeebies seed kit for birds, i was hoping to make a bird feeder with dd but it was just stickers nd a ready made seed cake to put in the garden, i left dd on the toilet to poo as i was woeful bout the lack of activity and then dd cries out "Mama, quick, quick my..my sticker is down the toilet" when i said i wsnt retreiving it she cried "but it was Jelly"

If it's one of those plastic coated stickers it will probably roll itself up like a short piece of drinking straw and pass through his system. I know this because I once found a piece of plastic in DS's nappy which unravelled to reveal Peppa Pig.

I should think you need to call Fireman Sam and locate Norman Price since it is almost certainly his fault.

whomovedmychocolate · 09/12/2008 20:19

GoodWilf - Fireman Sam isn't on cbeebies anymore But they could definitely cut their expenses by sending Norman to Balamory (might improve the plotlines there too!)

When my son was about two he swallowed a twenty pence piece. We had been swimming and I was changing him on the pull out table in the family cubicle.
Placed the twenty pence coin (had used it for locker) on a little ledge above the changing table...only didn't push it far enough over. Son's squirming and squealing managed to cause coin to drop off the edge of ledge and straight into son's open mouth mid-squeal!! His face was a picture - I of course panicked and sat him up quickly but the coin was long gone.
Spoke to first aid at the pool who told me to call GP when I got home...did this and GP gave me a list of symptoms to watch out for over night...but explained it would most likely appear in the next dirty nappy.

Right enough the next day I spotted the evidence still in one piece in the nappy. I did think about keeping the coin but then disposed of it with the nappy. Everybody since has said I should have kept it and presented it to him when he was 21 or brought his first girlfriend home!!!
