Cough..

My 9 month old has a cough, cold, and a temperature of max 38c. This has been going on since Friday. He's unhappy, not feeding as much as usual, no solids only breastmilk and only a little of that. Should I take him to the doctors? I haven't so far because I don't think the doc will do anything - I imagine they will say it's a virus, and just to give him parcetamol. Am I being a bit dismissive?

You are probably right that its a virus and may well just need paracetamol tlc and time...but if you are worried or he's not feeding then see a Doctor.

take him to the docs, if its that virus thing thats going round there is risk of secondary infection (eg ear infection, chest infection) which may need treating with antibiotics.
