How long does it take for the rest of the family to catch a child's stomach bug?

DD was sick yesterday but is fine today. I have a total phobic dread of stomach bugs and am paranoid about catching it. She was last sick yesterday mid-morning so how long can I leave it before assuming that I won't catch it now? Does it normally come on very quickly if the rest of the family catch it, or could I still catch it in a few days time?

There is no need to catch it if you wash your hands properly and are careful cleaning up after her.

DD is almost 12. She's had a few tummy bugs over the years but I've never caught one. Hand hygiene is key!

I'm washing my hands like a mad woman but I just thought that I might've caught it before she was sick, when I ate some of her food!

I stop panicing after 4 days from the last V or D.

It took me only 12 hours, from dds first vomit to my first vomit to catch the mega awful bug we have just got over.
